1. Who We Are
Welcome! Mozaic is a lifelog application created by Mozaic Day LLC for keeping your everyday moments in words and photos, just for you. Below we explain how we collect, use, and protect your information, and the choices you have over it. If anything here isn't clear, contact us. We're glad to explain.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide Mozaic, keep it running well, and support you.
Information you provide
- Your pieces. The text and photos you save are the heart of Mozaic. We store them encrypted on our servers so you can access them in the app. Photos are re-encoded on your device before upload, stripping embedded metadata such as location and capture time.
- Account information. Your email address, password, and username when you sign up.
- Purchases. A record of the transaction if you buy a subscription. Payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play.
- Messages to us. Anything you send when you contact us for support or feedback.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and log information. Basic technical details such as your device model, operating system, app version, language, IP address, and device identifiers.
- Usage and diagnostics. How you use Mozaic, plus crash and error data, so we can fix problems and improve the app.
3. How We Use Information
We use your information to provide Mozaic, keep it secure, and make it better over time.
- Provide our services. Help you access your account, save and display your pieces, and deliver your wraps.
- Maintain and improve our services. Troubleshoot problems, fix bugs, and learn how the app is used so we can keep refining it.
- Communicate with you. Respond to your questions and feedback, and send you service messages about your account, security, and important changes.
- Handle payments. Manage your subscription and record transactions.
- Keep Mozaic and your data safe. Protect accounts, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our terms.
- Meet legal and financial obligations. Comply with applicable laws and keep records required for tax and accounting.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your information. We share it only in the limited ways described below.
- Service providers. Companies that help us operate and improve Mozaic — such as cloud hosting and storage, analytics, and error reporting — may process information on our behalf, only to provide these services.
- Wrap generation. To create weekly and monthly wraps, your pieces are briefly decrypted and processed by OpenAI. This entire process is automated.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of Mozaic and our users.
- Business transfers. If Mozaic is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal and will remain subject to this policy.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your information only for as long as we need it.
- Deleting your data. You can delete individual pieces, wraps, or your entire account at any time in the app. When you delete your account, we delete your data from our systems immediately.
- The one thing we keep. To prevent repeat sign-ups for the free trial we give new users, we retain a record of your email address after deletion. We do not use this for any other purpose.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You have control over your information and the choices you make in the app.
- Manage. You can view and delete your pieces and wraps, and update or delete your account in the app.
- Export. You can download a copy of your data in a machine-readable format in the app.
- Notifications. You can turn notifications on or off in your device settings or in the app.
- Your privacy rights. The controls above are how you exercise your main privacy rights — the rights to access, correct, delete, and receive a copy of your personal information depending on where you live. You also have the right not to be treated differently for exercising them, and we don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
- How to exercise them. For anything you can't do directly in the app, contact us and we'll help after verifying your identity.
7. Security
We protect your information with care, though no app or online service can be completely secure.
- Encryption. We encrypt your data in transit, and we store your pieces encrypted on our servers.
- Access controls. We limit access to your information to what's strictly needed to run and support Mozaic, and we store passwords in hashed form, never in plain text.
- Staying secure. We build security into Mozaic, monitor for vulnerabilities, and address risks as we identify them.
8. International Data Transfers
Mozaic is currently distributed only through the U.S. storefronts of the Apple App Store and Google Play, and we store and process your information in the United States.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll notify you in the app or by email. If you keep using Mozaic after an update, the revised policy applies.
